At the heart of any restaurant is its food and Florio offers a variety of bistro classics, a “greatest hits" of café food: everything from house made Paté to Steak Frites and Poulet Roti (pan roasted all natural chicken). Simple dishes such as Pasta Bolognese round out the comforting menu. Florio even makes its own gelato and sorbetto in house! A small but eclectic wine list of exceptional local, European and South American vintners compete at the amiable bar with an admirable selection of pastis, select eau de vie and traditional spirits from around the world.
Florio offers a private dining room for parties of eight only. There are two seatings for the private room, 6 and 8:30 PM.
Florio is open nightly from 5:30 PM. Dinner is served until 10 PM Sunday through Wednesday and until 10:30 PM Thursday, Friday and Saturday.
Reservations for non-group dining are not required. Please call 415-775-4300 for availability or click here (Florio Reservation ) for booking with immediate confirmation.
Visa, Mastercard and American Express are accepted.
Florio opened in December 1998 by Doug Biederbeck and Joseph Graham. Doug Biederbeck is owner of the popular Bix Restaurant and Lounge: the City’s preeminent Supper Club in San Francisco’s Financial District. Visit another joint venture, MarketBar, in the renovated Market Place at the Ferry Building on the Embarcadero. Reservations are accepted at 415.434.1100 or through MarketBar Reservation.
Designed by Brayton + Hughes Design, Florio is situated on the corner of Wilmot Alley and Fillmore Street (between Pine & Bush Street). The bistro is intimate and cozy: warm lighting, traditional but sophisticated colors and simple touches such as a marble checkerboard floor and classic cafe chairs help set the tone. Of particular note, the restaurant facade seems at home in Paris, London or Milan yet is firmly planted in San Francisco’s elegant Pacific Heights.
