About
At the heart of Florio is its food, offering a delightful variety of Italian and French classics—a true “greatest hits” of café fare. From house-made pasta to steak frites, the menu is brimming with comforting dishes like veal, pork, and ricotta meatballs.
Since opening in December 1998, Doug “Bix” Biederbeck envisioned Florio as a warm neighborhood spot where people could enjoy a meal before or after a movie or theater outing. It’s a place where diners can savor a meal in an hour or linger for several with friends, featuring rustic dishes such as crispy roast chicken and perfectly cooked frites, complemented by good music, a fine bottle of wine, and a warm smile from the server.
This is Florio.
Nestled on the corner of Fillmore Street and Wilmot Alley (between Pine and Bush Streets), Florio is an intimate and cozy café designed by Richard Baryton. The warm lighting, traditional yet sophisticated colors, marble checkerboard floors, and classic chairs create an inviting ambiance. The restaurant’s façade evokes the charm of Paris, London, or Milan, while being firmly rooted in San Francisco’s elegant Pacific Heights.
Doug is also the owner of the popular Bix Restaurant and Lounge in the Financial District.
A 7% surcharge will be added to all food and beverage sales to offset S.F City and County Taxes and Fees.

Our intimate yet lively atmosphere provides a memorable setting for celebrating any occasion. Enjoy a refreshing alternative to typical downtown venues with our relaxed neighborhood location and professional service—perfect for business dinners or special commemorative events.
Our experienced staff is here to guide you through the planning stages of your special event, ensuring a dining experience tailored to your expectations. Imagine being able to truly enjoy your own party while we handle all the details.
We welcome luncheons and weekend day events, with options negotiable based on the size of your group and menu preferences (service charge and tax not included).
Additionally, we offer a variety of services from our trusted sources, such as flowers, live music, and valet parking, to enhance your event (not included in the flat rate).

Seated Events
Seated luncheons and dinners include hors d’oeuvres & cocktails beforehand, a custom three-course menu selected by you from our seasonal menu, fine wine and bottled water. We seat 60 guests at tables of 6-12 each.
Receptions
Included are passed hors d’oeuvres, food stations, full bar, fine wines & Champagne for up to 80 guests.
Rates
We charge a minimum flat rate exclusive of tax and service. Seated dinners and receptions carry the same rate. The entire restaurant is yours for the evening.
